Rather than waiting indefinitely for Bushiroad to support our favorite cards, we decided to do it ourselves. This format is a Create-a-Card format, based around the idea of creating an anime-like setting, where everyone plays their own personalized deck and has their own boss unit. For example, one of the friends I was initially talking to has played the original Gold Paladin Garmore ever since he started the game (it was his first deck) and he loves the card to death. We all know Bushiroad is never going to release a "Garmore" deck, and that Garmore has been pretty much invalidated by power creep. So, my friend made his own Garmore deck. Another friend feels the same way about King of Knights Alfred, and thus gave him the same treatment.
This is a project that has gotten a lot of hype at my locals, since everyone is extremely excited to be able to create their own decks and to make their favorite cards playable again, and I strongly encourage other people to try out similar projects. This is, first and foremost, a game, and TCG players tend to forget very fast that games are meant to be played for fun. What's fun about your favorite cards sucking? Nothing. What's fun about having working decks based around your favorite cards, that are unique to you, in a format where virtually everything is on the same power level? Everything. Thus, I present to you:
The Cardfight Vanguard "Blue Ox Format" Wiki
As of now, there are 2 "sets" out, and a 3rd one underway. I will be using this blog to showcase updates, such as new set releases, and I strongly encourage other players to test out similar ideas. Feel free to use the cards I've already made on the wiki, or to start your own format. The only rule is to have fun!
Cards on the wiki are uploaded at 325x225 pixels, give or take a couple, which is the size necessary to proxy cards. For those who don't know what Proxying is, it is where you print out images of cards and put them in sleeves, on top of actual cards, and play with them. Plenty of players use this method to test out unreleased cards, but it works just as well for this format.
As a side note, you will notice that the images on the wiki are very... bad. This is because I can't find a card generator for Vanguard cards online and only have MS Paint at my disposal. Bad as they look, they get the necessary information across correctly, which is all that is important. They're purely for fun!
